A Musician's Picnic; Sustainable Elopement Inspiration
Updated: Dec 15, 2022
Part 3 of our Green Elopement Styled Shoot Challenge 2022, in partnership with ElopeNC
Hayley of An Event to Remember created this intimate music themed look for our 2022 Green Elopement Styled Shoot, in partnership with ElopeNC! Part of the challenge was to add personal details, and we love the direction they took with all the musical elements! Check out the details to this Musician's Picnic elopement shoot below, beautifully captured by Rachel Abi Photography!

Venue: Old Lystra Inn
Old Lystra Inn is a historic 1890s farmhouse with a beautiful backyard and a permanent event tent! They strive to run the property as sustainable as possible, and are even rated on NC Green Travel on their Green Lodging page! With the gorgeous historic house to get ready in, plenty of large trees surrounding the property, and even a small bamboo grove, there are so many great photo ops at Old Lystra Inn!
Attire: Beautiful & Borrowed Bridal The dress worn in this shoot was borrowed from a local consignment gown rental company. The gown had previously been worn at a wedding and is now available to rent for photo shoots and real weddings!
Jewelry and menswear was owned by the models and previously worn at their own wedding. Wearing jewelry you already have or borrowing from a friend is not only a great way to reduce the consumption around your wedding, but it will also save you money!
Hair & Makeup: Reverie Hair Co
Reverie Hair Co. is a Raleigh based hair & makeup studio, and for this shoot they incorporated organic products to style the model!
Catering & Dessert: Sage & Swift To showcase sustainable wedding catering, Hayley worked with a local caterer who focuses on fresh, seasonal flavors. The menu they created for this shoot was seasonal forward, with fresh spring flavors! They showcased colors and flavors that are fresh, herb forward and fun. And for the cake they were able to use reusable dowels, and transported it in a reusable container.
"The couple we had (modeling) actually was a musician and Asian food is something we wanted to feature as a change to what is normally served at wedding. We wanted it to fit the location well but still allow it to be flirty and springlike." -Hayley (An Event to Remember)
Vintage Rentals: Southern Vintage Table
Linen Rentals: American Party Rentals
Place settings and decor were borrowed from Shelly at Southern Vintage Table, and linens were rented through American Party Rentals. An Event to Remember also has their own inventory of decor items, some of which they used in this shoot. Chalkboard signs and recycled music sheets were used to add additional musical details to the day!
Planner & Florist: An Event to Remember
An Event to Remember offers floral services as well as event planning & coordination, and they certainly got creative with this shoot! They used seasonal, local flowers from Piedmont Wholesale Flowers and Wild Scallions Farms, and they used netting to hold things together along with greenery ties. They also built arrangements out of reused items, like a guitar, rather than purchasing any new vases.
"Loved working around the other teams as well to see everyone's vision come to life!" - Hayley (An Event To Remember)
